New videos explaining how to find & use permalinks (or persistent/durable/premanent links) have been created, thanks to Lyle Ford and Katherine Penner.
Where on the Libraries' website should the tutorial links go?
I've created a poll in staff.lib for your vote: http://staff.lib.umanitoba.ca/node/3619
The poll will be active for today only, since we want to get this information on the website quickly.
Thanks,
Betty
Hi everyone,
Sorry for the short notice, but I've just learned that Shaun is not able to do this evening's virtual reference shift. He is scheduled from 5pm-11pm - can anyone cover some of that time?
thanks!
Betty
There was a major outage of the libraryh3lp service yesterday, which
may still be affecting things this morning. Here is a message from the
administrators this morning:
"Yes, there definitely was a problem this morning, probably related to
the issue with coming back up from the Amazon [server] outage yesterday. We
believe the service should be up now, and we're watching it very
closely.
If your service still isn't right, try to logout/in. If that doesn't
fix it, give me a URL for one of your pages with a widget."
If you're experiencing problems today, please let me know.
thanks!
Betty
Just FYI - the libraryh3lp administrators are reporting that there have been some stability issues with the system over the last hour or so. Please let me know if you encounter any problems, so I can report it to them.
thanks
Betty
Good morning,
Due to some computer problems, Bill W. may not be able to do the 9-10am virtual ref. shift tomorrow. Can anyone cover, just in case the problem can't be fixed in time?
thanks
Betty
The person who does the 2:00 VR shift is not in today. I have a meeting and
cannot continue beyond my designated 2:00 end time. If someone is able to
cover the hour, please do so.

Hi everyone,
It looks like there may be a problem with the SMS gateway, which handled incoming text messages from phones. They're coming in as batches of several texts all at once, which suggests to me they might have been backlogged & then are cleared. I've reported it to LETS and am awaiting further information.
thks
Betty
