room booking website problem

Exam invigilation at the libraries

Hello, A quick note about exam invigilation, as a request via VR was referred to me today (it comes up semi-frequently in the health sciences; not sure about other areas/units on campus). We do not provide exam invigilation services at the NJM. There used to be invigilation services available via the UofM Registrar’s Office (at a cost of $80 per exam), but the information has disappeared, and the UofM doesn’t show up in Invigilator Network listings anymore. If you receive requests for referral or inquiries in general about invigilation for the NJM, you can certainly refer them to the Client Service Desk and/or tell them that this is not a service that is provided. Two big issues for online access

Hi Everyone, Two things that came up for me this morning on VR: 1. Microsoft Edge, the Windows 10 default browser, does not work with Ebsco databases. * Many other libraries are having the same issue. * If patrons have trouble with access, suggest Firefox or Chrome. 2. Patrons think they’ve claimed their library resources because when they sign in to search, their UMNetID shows up in the upper right corner. * When a patron goes through the SignUM process of claiming library resources, it shows their full name (first and last). * It’s a pain to type the instructions out over and over, so I put them in the LibAnswers Canned Messages Area for us: http://umanitoba.libanswers.com/chat.php?m=c Happy September! Change to date for start of Fall hours at NJM

There has been a change to the start date for Fall hours at the NJM (which was supposed to be August 28). Please be advised that the NJM Library will maintain summer hours through Sunday, September 3. The library will therefore be closed on the long weekend (2nd/3rd/4th). Summer Hours: Monday – Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Saturday: closed Sunday: closed There will be no swipe access in effect during summer hours, as we will be closed before 6:00 p.m. on the days that we are open. Hi, Here are the official answers from IST regarding the process of claiming the library account in SignUM. Please direct students to IST if they cannot access the library account 5 minutes after claiming it. Q: After adding "Library" to the cart and checking out, nothing showed up under the "pending requests". Is it normal or not? Are users able to check current requests? A: Yes it would be normal for it NOT to show under pending requests because Libraries would be an automatically approved request. The pending requests would be for requests that need approval. Q: How long does it take SignUM to create a library account? In the past, it was immediate with Iridium. Now, how long does the student have to wait for? A: After it is requested in SignUM, it should only take a minute or so to actually provision it. So if they aren't able to access libraries say 5 minutes after claiming it, then they should call the service desk. Hi, Springshare moved their server to Canada for all Canadian users yesterday. As a result, some of our widgets, such as the Ask Us chat widget and Library Hours, were unavailable. These problems have been fixed. For those who are using a personal libchat widget, please go back to your libchat widget settings to use the updated widget code. Please let me know if there are any other problems.
