that August 31 marks the end of the Professor Patrol. The Professors
will not be patrolling during the academic year. FYI - a Departmental
Academic Retreat will be held in early September and security issues is

Hi Martha ... please share this teaching assistant position announcement
with graduate students in Plant Science. We need an
agronomically-oriented student TA that can help instruct and mark lab
assignments for the Ag Diploma second soil fertility course. The TA
should have either this course or, preferably, the degree level soil
fertility course and also some practical knowledge of crop production
practices in Manitoba.
An outline of the job is as follows:
Teaching Assistant - Level 2
Course: SOIL 0630 Soil Fertility Diploma Course
Number of Positions: 2 ... at 60 hours for each position
Hourly Rate or Course Rate (includes 6% vacation pay): $20.48 (under
review)
Application deadline: 4:00 p.m., September 2, 2010

The committee for allocation of greenhouse and environmental facilities
is again requesting that you give some thought to your requirements for
the upcoming growing season. This period will extend from September
27,2010 - April 30, 2011.
Please submit your request in writing to Ian Brown or Dr. F. Daayf by
the deadline of September 10,2010. Please list any special conditions
you may require such as temperature, photoperiod, etc. We need to know
the start and projected finish dates for the research or class material
projects. In accordance with departmental policy, priority will be
given to undergraduate class material and thesis projects in the
allocation process.
Please note again, the period of this allocation will be from September
27, 2010 to April 30, 2011.
