The Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada Kentville Research and Development Centre (KRDC) invites applications for a Research Scientist position with specialization in forage agronomy. Close collaboration occurs with the Faculty of Agriculture of Dalhousie University (Truro), and it is expected that the incumbent will be officially co-located at the university while using the Nappan Research Farm site. There are few new items to note for the award: Deadlines: 1. September 19, 2016 i. Students must submit transcripts to the Faculty of Graduate Studies by this deadline ii. NEW THIS YEAR A Nomination Letter from the Department Head must be submitted to our office by this deadline. The Nomination letter must include the following information: (a) Outline how the institution's research environment will foster the student's research interest and leadership skills. (b) Provide justification for the lack of mobility of applicants who are completing or have completed a Master's degree at the University of Manitoba. The letter should provide an explanation as to why it is in the best candidate's best interest to stay in the same institution. This will include further elaboration on the appropriateness of the supervisor in terms of resources, funding, publications, their research and training environment. Examples may include (but are not limited to) funding, facilities/resources and personnel that will be available to support the candidate as they carry out their proposed research and develop their research potential. 2. Reminder: Grad Student BBQ Lunch Today

Good morning - Just a quick reminder that a few of us will be grilling up some burgers here at Plant Science for lunch today. The rain is so pose to clear late morning, but we can always eat in the lounge if it is too wet. $2 gets you a burger and a pop. See you around we'll start setting up the where the BBQ hangs out! Hi plant science gang! Graduate student association will be having a BBQ lunch this Friday! This is a 'just for fun' lunch - we'll be having our annual BBQ fundraiser for the Department in August. $2 gets you a burger and a pop. See you around 12:00-12:30 where the BBQ hangs out!
