I sent you information about the next competition for the Plant Science Travel Award on October 28. Since then, the eligibility criteria has been expanded so that "Priority will be given to students who are not beyond year 2 in the M.Sc. program or year 4 in the Ph.D. program". Thanks to Meghan, Victoria and Iris, we now have close to $13,000 confirmed in sponsorships, although we are a bit short on our planned budget. As it is OUR symposium, we need a total contribution and participation from everyone of you to make it a success. No applications were submitted, so I have been asked to again solicit applications for this scholarship: Seed of the Year Scholarship is awarded to a student enrolled in plant breeding or genetics at a master's or Ph.D. level. One recipient will be selected from one of the following Western Canadian Universities: University of Alberta, University of Manitoba, or University of Saskatchewan. Two applications will be submitted from each university for consideration. One scholarship will be selected from the six submitted.
