Saves you a trip to their office! Students will be seen on a drop-in basis (first come, first served). We anticipate that waiting times could be long and we cannot guarantee that all students and employees will be able to receive their Social Insurance Numbers on January 6th or 7th. Students coming to the SIN card sessions must bring the following documents: If you DO NOT have a valid Work Permit: * U of M student card * Original Study Permit issued by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) that states the permit holder "may accept employment" or "may work" in Canada. * Passport NOTE: If your Study Permit does not contain either of these statements, you must bring a study permit and a "confirmation to work off-campus" letter issued by IRCC (previously called Citizenship and Immigration Canada - CIC) prior to February 6, 2015. -OR- If you have a valid Work Permit: * Original Work Permit issued by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) * U of M student card (if you are a student or U of M staff ID) * Passport There is no fee to apply for a Social Insurance Number (SIN). Hi all, Dr. Daayf's term as plant science department head is ending a year from now (December, 2020). There will be a committee formed to select a new department head, on which one graduate student needs to be present. If you would be interested in taking part in this committee, please respond to this email or contact Beth or myself directly. Graduate students at the Masters level studying at a publicly-funded, accredited Canadian university are eligible to apply. The thesis can be conducted in any field (e.g. engineering, social sciences, health sciences) and must include standards as a component of the research. The topic does not need to be related to an area in which CSA Group already has standards. The research may investigate aspects of an existing standard or may explore an area for future standards development.
