Dear fellow Grad students:
An excellent opportunity has presented itself! Our department has
invited Professor Craig Pearson
(http://www.sustainable.unimelb.edu.au/content/people/craig_pearson
<http://www.sustainable.unimelb.edu.au/content/people/craig_pearson>) to
deliver a special seminar to our Faculty in March. Dr. Pearson resides
in Australia and is the Director of the Melbourne Sustainable Society
Institute, his personal areas of expertise include agricultural and
environmental policy, strategic planning, grassland agronomy and city
greenbelt policy.
A committee has been formed to overlook and plan Dr. Pearson's
activities during his stay in our great city and /they are looking for a
graduate student representative/. The visit is tentatively planned for
March 19-23, 2012 which means that there will be some overlap with our
Graduate Symposium (March 23-24, 2012).
/This is a great opportunity to get involved with our departmental
committees and network with Dr. Pearson/. Perhaps some of you are
interested in studying down under! You would be involved in arranging
his schedule, planning activites etc. The committe is currently
comprised of Dr. Martin Entz and Dr. Yvonne Lawley, and possibly you!
Please let me know ASAP if you are interested or have any questions.
Thank you!
Kristen Podolsky
