Subject: URGENT: Plant Science Rep for GSA By-Laws Committee Needed
Hi all,
In order to secure funding from GSA each year we need to have representation from our grad students on two GSA committees. Chami is currently serving on both which is not fair to her. We need someone to volunteer to serve on the GSA By-Laws Committee. This is not a large commitment as there is only one meeting per month (one hour, on a Wednesday at 4:30 pm). Anyone who already holds a position in PSGSA can also volunteer! Serving on this committee will of course look good on your CV too! If you're interested, please email me, Mary_Price(a)umanitoba.ca as soon as possible!
Thanks,
Mary

Hi all!
I know we're all having an incredibly busy fall, but we're going to try to unwind for a night. We will be having a movie night Thursday, November 1 at 5:30 pm in room 130. The movie we will be screening is "The PhD Movie", a story all about life as a grad student. The trailer can be found below:
http://www.phdcomics.com/comics/archive.php?comicid=1433
There will be pizza, pop and candy for all! If you're interested in coming please try to send me an email with your pizza choice (vegetarian or pepperoni/other) OR sign up in the grad lounge!

Subject: PLANT GROWTH SPACE ALLOCATIONS
The Plant Science Space Allocation again requests your needs for the upcoming growing cycle. Some have already been started, but we must attend to those not already assigned. This allocation will be from Sept 1, 2012 to December 31, 2012. Please keep in mind that there will be mandatory user fees effective January 1, 2013. This cost structure will be reviewed annually and adjustments to cover only the costs will be made.
Please submit to me via e-mail your needs by October 9, 2012 with any special requirements (temperature. ppd, etc). We also need to identify any space used for class material production. To this end, please signify your need with the appropriate course numbers. Also, the committee is addressing the requirement issue every four months.
This means that we shall ask again for submissions effective Jan. 1, 2013 - April 30, 2013, May 1, 2013- August 30, 2013.
Please give careful consideration to these requests as demand for space is usually very tight and shows no signs of diminishing.
Thank you for all your help in dealing with this annual process.
