UNIVERSITY OF MANITOBA BURSARIES
Every year, the University of Manitoba offers a wide-range of bursaries to both new and continuing full time and part-time students who have a demonstrated financial need and a minimum academic standing. Bursaries (student funding that does not need to be repaid) range in amounts from $100 to $1,000 with over $3 million awards annually. Bursary awards are primarily based upon financial need (as opposed to scholarships which are primarily based upon academics/marks).
Please go to http://umanitoba.ca/student/fin_awards/bursaries/index.html for further information.

Good afternoon everyone
As you (hopefully) know, the Faculty of Graduate Studies has launched a non-for credit series of development courses for its students. These courses are designed for students at all stages of their graduate programs, from the beginner working with their advisor or working with library resources, through to help with thesis writing and beyond to the potential marketing of discoveries.
These workshops cost nothing to the students, run for 90 minutes or so at lunchtimes and are, for the most part, available on both the Bannatyne and Fort Garry campuses. In addition students attending more at least 6 workshops are eligible for them to added to their co-curricular record, and consequently we ask that students pre-register for the workshops.
Information on upcoming workshops will be sent to all students via the weekly newsletter. However, we would appreciate your help in the dissemination of the information about them.
For further information please see:
http://umanitoba.ca/faculties/graduate_studies/workshops/
If anyone would like to place a link to the workshops on your unit homepage, then please contact me.
Many thanks
