Good morning Grad Students!!
We will have our Grad Student Christmas Party on the Dec 8th (Thursday) from 11:45 to 14:00 at Room 218. We will have the potluck from 11:45 to 13:15 followed by the Secret Santa and Games. Both signup sheets for the potluck and the secret Santa will be in the Grad Student Lounge. You can join the potluck without participating in the Secret Santa! Please also indicate what dish and kind of meat you are bringing. Just note that some of our members have peanut allergy and some are vegans, vegetarians and others with other dietary restrictions. The suggested gift price for the Secret Santa is around 15~20 dollars. The deadline for the Secret Santa is on Nov 25. We will be drawing names on Nov 28 at 10:00am in the Grad Student Lounge.

We will be holding a Paint Friday for all grad students on Friday, November 25th. The painting we will be doing is the same with the one in this youtube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PSgBX3myz9I
The cost for attending this event is $5/person, which includes everything (paint, brushes, canvas, etc.). Snacks and pops will be provided too. You can take your masterpiece back home with you at the end of the event.
Email me (sunj2458(a)myumanitoba.ca<mailto:sunj2458@myumanitoba.ca>) to register or if you need more details about this event. I'll also leave a sign-up sheet in the grad lounge. The deadline for registration is November 18th and you can make the payment to me in person anytime before the event.

My name is Valerie Craig, and I am a graduate student at the University of Guelph in the Department of Plant Agriculture. I am part of an organizing committee that is hosting a symposium that is graduate student run and organized here at the University of Guelph titled Communication in Agriculture; part of the DuPont Pioneer Plant Science Symposium Series.
Our Symposium is a full day event being held on Monday, November 14. We are broadcasting the event via webinar so that different research institutions globally may participate.
