Dear Fellow Grad Students
Here is the invitation from Gurcharn Brar, the Chair of the University of Saskatchewan Plant Science Graduate Student Association. All students are welcome to register the symposium before March 10th, even though you are presenting neither your results or your proposal. For students who have financial difficulties for accommodations, there are some possibilities that the University of Saskatchewan might cover/split the costs of the accommodations. So far, 20+ students from NDSU have planned to come to this symposium. It will be a great opportunity for us to network with students from different universities.

Hi Yang,
Sure thing. We will get you the parking permit. You will need 2 parking pass, right?
On accommodation, 2-4 students may have to share a room depending on our budget. I hope that is k for you.
Also, Yang, would you mind circulating an email saying that all students, faculty, techs, post-docs etc. who wish to attend symposium will have to register, doesn’t matter they present or not. The registration is open to everyone and not just grad students. The registration deadline is March 10.
Thanks,
Gurcharn

Hi Yang,
I will get those to you this morning! As for group rates, we haven't worked any out as of yet. I was hoping to do that today and I was going to contact the Park Town and the Best Western for that. I will also let you know about that once it is all done!
Also- we are experiencing some technical difficulties with our abstract submissions through the website. Would you be able to provide me with the following student's emails so they can submit their abstract directly to me?:
Karuna Kapoor
Laura Schmidt
Bruce Pei
Karunur Rashid
Ashley Ammeter

Hi Moria
Thanks for the information [?] Just a curious question whether these hotels provide any discount or price code for students attending this symposium or not? Will students from other universities plan to stay at hotel rooms as well? If you do not mind, could you mind sending me the names of UofM students who submitted their abstract?
Thanks for your time.

Hi Yang,
As for hotels, the Park Town is an excellent option. It's close to the University and has a free shuttle. As well, there is the Radisson, Sheraton or Best Western all near by. I will include the links below.

Hi Gurcharn
I submitted my abstract and have not seen any confirmation notice whether the word file is received or not. Does it mean that the submission failed since I have not seen a Thank You message?
What another option of accommodations can U of M students choose beside hotel rooms? It will be nice to have more than one option/hotel the UofM students can choose from [?]

Hi Yang,
Thanks so much for helping us out in spreading a word on our symposium. For title submission everyone should get a thank you message and for Abstract too. However, we are meeting on March 1 and I will confirm with Moria. A student from Montana state emailed me the abstract too just because he did not receive any conformation message. So far NDSU is leading with about 20+ students coming.
Also, Yang we will be in touch with you to arrange for accommodation! Unless U of M student association can afford paying for hotel rooms, we can get some rooms for U of M students.
Thanks again,
Gurcharn

Hi Gurcharn
I sent a reminder and the last encouragement to this symposium on this morning to all grad students at uofm. Will students get any confirmation email/notice after submitting their abstracts? Last time, students did not get any confirmation after submitting their title and were wondering whether they succeeded on the submission or not, since it was conducted through online. It would be nice to have a confirmation notice, if it is possible or not taking too much your time :)
Thanks for sending me a reminder :D

Yang
