Good morning, the following email is being sent on behalf of the International Centre:
Event Description:
Get Your Social Insurance Number (SIN) On Campus
January 7, 2019 // 9:00am - 3:00pm
Location: 521 AB, UMSU University Centre
Service Canada will be coming to the U of M's Fort Garry campus to issue Social Insurance Numbers (SIN) to qualifying international students. Saves you a trip to their office.
Students will be seen on a drop-in basis (first come, first served). We anticipate that waiting times could be long and we cannot guarantee that all students will be able to receive their Social Insurance Numbers January 7.
Students coming to the SIN card sessions must bring the following documents:
If you DO NOT have a valid Work Permit:
* U of M student card
* Original Study Permit issued by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) that states the permit holder "may accept employment" or "may work" in Canada.
* Passport
NOTE: If your Study Permit does not contain either of these statements, you must bring a study permit and a "confirmation to work off-campus" letter issued by IRCC (previously called Citizenship and Immigration Canada - CIC) prior to February 6, 2015.
-OR-
If you have a valid Work Permit:
* Original Work Permit issued by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC)
* U of M student card (if you are a student)

Subject: AWCA Student Sponsorship Program for Young Women in Agriculture Studies - Deadline for Application January 25, 2019
Dear Sir/Madam,
The AWCA Student Sponsorship Program is open for applications to attend the upcoming Advancing Women in Agriculture Conference (AWCA) being held in Calgary on March 11th and 12th, 2019. Over 25 university and college students are chosen from across Canada to attend each conference.
Your students will have the opportunity to network with students from other educational institutions, primary producers, small business owners and representatives from grower associations, government and corporate agribusiness. Many students who have attended in the past have found employment and mentors at AWCA.
The AWCA Student Sponsorship for AWCA West 2019 includes two nights' accommodation at the host hotel and registration for a student to attend the entire conference including a pre-conference workshop, reception, banquet, and the plenary session over the two days. All travel and miscellaneous costs that are incurred will be the responsibility of the individual. Students apply by completing the application form attached, and sending in their photo, and a video profile detailing their reason for wanting to attend. This information will be posted on our website, social media platforms and in our conference program. The successful students will also be highlighted at our conference.
Promote this opportunity to your students studying agriculture at your institution. I have attached for your use a graphic image that could be forwarded to students or posted in appropriate information areas. As well, I have attached an application form for students to complete and return to my attention. If you have any questions or require further information, contact us at (403) 686-8407 or by email at beth(a)irismeck.com
Visit our website at www.advancingwomenconference.ca for more information. While you're there, take a look at some of our past sponsored students videos: https://www.advancingwomenconference.ca/archive/2018/2018east/student-progr….
Thank you for your assistance in promoting the AWCA Student Sponsorship program to your female students in agricultural studies.
Sincerely,
Beth
Beth Halford
