Tutoring opportunity for graduate students

The Faculty is looking for two graduate students with excellent technical writing skills to be hired as tutors for other graduate students in the Faculty. The job description is attached with this email. Working as writing tutor would involve about 16 hours of initial training (which is paid) and then 2 hours / week of tutoring through Fall and Winter. . It is mandatory that the selected candidates are available to attend all of the following training sessions (which are paid): * Tuesday, Aug 28, 9:30 - 12:00 * Thursday, August 30, 1:00 - 3:30 * Saturday, September 8, 9:30 - 12:30 * Saturday, September 29, 9:00 - 3:00 Training covers topics such as writing tutor roles, principles and strategies, resources, FIPPA, Accessible Customer Service. The following message is being sent on behalf of the International Centre: ************************************************************************************* Event Description: GET YOUR SOCIAL INSURANCE NUMBER (SIN) ON CAMPUS Wednesday, September 5 & Thursday September 6 // 9am to 3pm (both days) UMSU University Centre, Room 521 A/B Service Canada will be coming to the U of M's Fort Garry campus to issue Social Insurance Numbers (SIN) to qualifying international students. Saves you a trip to their office. Students will be seen on a drop-in basis (first come, first served). We anticipate that waiting times could be long and we cannot guarantee that all students will be able to receive their Social Insurance Numbers on September 5th and September 6th.
