Subject: Plant Sciences Window Replacement - Contractor Working Saturday Dec 18th
Hi Susan,
Phil from Tactus has informed me their window subtrade Accurate Dorwin will be working the Plant Sciences building on Saturday Dec 8th from 8:00am to 4:00pm. They will be completing all deficiencies related to the caulking around the windows in various rooms. Phill will be onsite during this work and will provide access to the building and rooms.
I have notified both Campus Security and the Power House of the after hours work.
Thank you,

Subject: Space Allocation, Jan. 1 to April 30, 2022
Good morning, Susan,
It is time for the reallocation of plant growth space for the period January 1 to April 30, 2022. Could you please send the above attachments to "Plant Science All".
Thank you, Cathy Bay
Importance: High
Good morning,
An individual who later tested positive for COVID-19 was on the Fort Garry Campus on December 13. The individual attended the Point (i.e. Plant Science Field Station BLDG) Room 113, Agriculture Building foyer outside Plant Science office (221 cor), as well as the second floor corridor of the Plant Science Building.
Public health has investigated the case and has reached out to close contacts of the individual. If you were not contacted by Public Health and were in the above area on the above date, you can continue to self-monitor for symptoms. Should you develop symptoms use the Online COVID-19 Screening Tool<https://sharedhealthmb.ca/covid19/screening-tool/> to determine if you should be tested.
The spaces where the individual was present on campus have been appropriately cleaned and disinfected. All individuals in all UM indoor spaces are required to wear 3-ply reusable or disposable masks at all times.
It is more important than ever that individuals who attend work or any on-campus activities in person strictly follow public health guidance including getting vaccinated, limiting close contacts outside of the home, practicing physical distancing, and staying home when sick, no matter how mild the symptoms. If you have symptoms that could be COVID-19, use the Online COVID-19 Screening Tool<https://sharedhealthmb.ca/covid19/screening-tool/> to self-screen and get tested if that is what is recommended. Without the test there is no way to tell if the symptoms are from COVID-19 or another cause.

Subject: Please forward to Grad Students and Staff in Plant Science
Dear Colleagues and Students,
We are hearing a great deal about "Regenerative Agriculture", so I thought I would draw your attention to this very good perspective on the subject (thank you Susan for forwarding the message and the attached paper). The term "regenerative agriculture" comes from the organic movement and was first articulated by James Rodale of the Rodale Centre in 1983. However, it has been nuanced since and is making a comeback a dominant agricultural movement.
The paper, which is attached, was written by Ken Giller of Wageningen University. Ken is very well-respected as an independent voice in agronomy and crop science; he has conducted most of his work in Europe and Africa.
Best wishes,
Martin

Subject: Hamper update, thank you!!! Can you forward to dept?
Hi everyone!
Thank you so much for all of your donations to the holiday hampers this year! With your support we were able to build two full hampers of pantry items, gifts, milk, meat, cheese and fruit for our original two families.
There were so many donations of pantry items (the photos below don't do it justice!), we were able to build another hamper for a third family!
All donations will be dropped off this week - thanks again, it was really appreciated!
Have a great holiday season.
- Katherine, Sarah, Michelle, Wilson and the Natural Systems Agriculture team.
