Good afternoon,
Below is an opportunity that may be of interest to students in the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences. I wanted to draw attention to this particular posting as it could be a great opportunity for students in your faculty.
MEMBER, CANADIAN AGRICULTURAL YOUTH COUNCIL
Agriculture Minister Marie-Claude Bibeau launched the application period for the second cohort of the Canadian Agricultural Youth Council. The second cohort's 18-month term will officially start in the summer of 2022 "and will be made up of new and returning members - youth who are creative and who have a passion for food and farming." The Council meets regularly with the Minister and Department officials "to discuss the issues that matter the most to young people working in the agriculture and agri-food sectors and to advise on agriculture-related policies and programs." The Council is open to those aged 18 to 30 who work in or study the agriculture and agri-food value chain and "who are interested in sharping the future of the sector." Applications are due on March 22.

Subject: [VPAC-Assoc-Deans] President's Student Leadership Program
Dear Colleagues,
The Asper School of Business is proud to be home of the James W. Burns Leadership Institute at the University of Manitoba. I am excited to share that the Institute’s flagship program, the President’s Student Leadership Program<https://umanitoba.ca/asper/programs-of-study/presidents-student-leadership-…>, is now accepting applications for its fourth year.
I am calling on you as Deans/Directors and Associate Deans to identify students in your faculty who would be the right fit for this unique‐in‐Canada, interdisciplinary program, and invite them to apply. Thank you in advance!
The President’s Student Leadership Program is an immersive learning experience that brings together students from across disciplines, backgrounds, interests, levels of study and Manitoba post‐secondary institutions. To note, both undergraduates and postgraduate students may apply, and must not currently be in their last year of study. Participants will be selected based on their leadership commitment, potential, and existing experience that builds their communities whether at school, in their communities or more broadly. We seek a cohort reflecting Manitoba’s diverse student population. The ability to work across boundaries of all types is critical to leadership for the future and through the program, we seek to create a community of young people who will contribute as leaders in their careers in any field.
Please see the attached poster for more information and to circulate to your colleagues and potential applicants as you see fit. Thank you very much for assisting us to get the word out, and to shoulder tap students who would be great candidates for the program.
