Good morning PS grads,
PSGSA is happy to announce that we will be replacing our coffee breaks with coffee walks this year! It will be a chance to stretch your legs, chat with fellow plant science graduate students, and grab a coffee (optional) at one of the many coffee shops on campus! We hope to hold coffee walks at least once a month. We will meet at the grad student lounge, or you can meet us at Tim Hortons (the engineering building) for our first coffee walk of the year at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 20th!
Thank you and I hope you can attend,

Attention FAFS students!
You are invited to attend the free documentary screening of
Reduce, Reuse, Ruminate
Thursday, October 19 | 5:30 PM - 8:00 PM
Room 130 Agriculture Building
In Canada, 58% of the food we produce is wasted. Food waste is a problem that needs to be tackled at every link in the supply chain, from producers and processors to retailers and consumers.
Reduce, Reuse, Ruminate is a short documentary that highlights the upcycling ability of cattle and their important role in diverting food loss and waste from landfills.
After viewing the documentary, we will explore strategies that move food waste away from landfills and towards those in the community who can use it.
Our panel will include Dr. Kim Ominski, animal scientist at the University of Manitoba, Jaime White, director (new products) at Loop Resource, a food diversion company, and Isabell Reutter, UM animal studies student and dairy producer.
Following the documentary and discussion, participants will enjoy a build-your-own poutine bar. There will one complimentary beverage ticket per registered attendee.
RSVP by FRIDAY, OCTOBER 13. Seats are limited!
