Eppie thanks for cleaning out the fridge!! It has been brought to my attention that personal food, cutlery items and storage containers are going missing from the drying rack, mail boxes and the fridge. My only suggestion to remedy this is to request that all items be labeled with your name. No student or staff should take from any other persons mailbox unless requested to do so. I feel that this is most respectable way of dealing with items in the lounge. I am of course open to any other suggestions that you might feel would assist the lounge running smoothly. have a great day. Hi All- I know that Bev already sent a message, but I would like to follow up. Attached is the registration and details about the symposium. Each student is responsible for registering. Registration deadline- Dec. 14, 2007 Abstract deadline- Feb. 8, 2008 I have placed a sign up sheet on the side of the fridge in the grad lounge. Please sign up if you are planning on attending the symposium so that hotel rooms and vans can be reserved. This is be a fun and educating trip!! I hope that all will present and join us in this tradition. Next year it will be U of Maniotba's turn to host!! If you have any questions at all please contact me. Attention graduate student TA's, graders, markers, lab instructors, etc. etc. (anyone who is a member of the Canadian Union of Public Employees). It is important to send him the information he is requesting in order that the union properly represent the needs of the TA's (et al.) to the university administration (who sets your pay and hours). CUPE is trying to put together a case for the University that we are currently not being paid enough hours to do the work that we do. It is common knowledge throughout the grad student community that we often spend much more time meeting with students, answering emails, marking papers/labs/tests, demonstrating labs, holding office hours, preparing for labs or teaching responsibilities, etc. As such, I would like graduate students to send me an email outlining how many hours they get paid relative to how many hours they actually put into being a TA/Grader Marker, etc. Please send your emails to jdkelly79(a)gmail.com and feel free to contact me at any point.
