Karl C. Ivarson Agricultural Scholarship This scholarship is open to agricultural science students from the province of Alberta. Students may be enrolled in any post‐secondary institution within or outside the province of Alberta. In 2015, two awards will be granted: $6,500 Masters level; $12,000 PhD level. Candidates must hold Canadian Citizenship or Permanent Residence status in Canada and be enrolled in their graduate program for at least one semester beyond the application deadline. Deadline for applications is November 16, 2015 Scholarships are awarded on the following basis, but not necessarily placed in order of importance:  Academic achievement  Areas of study • Leadership  Career interests  Letters of recommendation This scholarship was created by Dr. Karl C. The Department of Plant Science is looking for volunteers to help host small groups of grade 8 students interested in learning how plants grow and develop from seeds. The visits will occur three evening: Oct 15, 22nd or Oct 29th from 5:00 to 7:30. Volunteers can choose to serve one or more of the days/times indicated above and will be assisted by Faculty members in planning simple demonstrations in the greenhouse.
