The University of Manitoba campuses are located on original lands of Anishinaabeg, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, and Dene Peoples, and on the homeland of the Métis Nation. We respect the Treaties that were made on these territories, we acknowledge the harms and mistakes of the past, and we dedicate ourselves to move forward in partnership with Indigenous communities in a spirit of reconciliation and collaboration.

Student opportunities abound at the 2024 Animal Nutrition Conference of Canada
Showcase student research (Applications are being accepted until March 1!)
Do you know students conducting research in animal nutrition? Are they looking for opportunities to showcase their research and network with industry experts? If so, they don't want to miss the student opportunities available through the Animal Nutrition Association of Canada (ANAC) and the Animal Nutrition Conference of Canada (ANCC)<https://www.anacan.org/education-and-events/annual-conference/>.
The ANCC is a dynamic national conference that brings together researchers and feed industry specialists to exchange knowledge about the latest scientific developments related to livestock nutrition. This year's event will showcase a diverse program with the theme "Animal nutrition and feed security: global changes and local approaches".
The ANCC Graduate Student Competitions include three categories:
1. Oral Presentation Competition<https://www.anacan.org/education-and-events/annual-conference/graduate-stud…>: Two students will be selected to present their research in a 20-minute oral presentation during the conference. Registration, travel and accommodation expenses for ANCC 2024 will be covered.
2. Poster Competition:<https://www.anacan.org/education-and-events/annual-conference/graduate-stud…> Students will showcase their research during the Graduate Student Poster Exhibition event. Poster presentations will be evaluated by experts from industry and academia and prizes will be awarded.
3. Up-and-Coming Research Mini Presentations (new for 2024!)<https://www.anacan.org/education-and-events/annual-conference/graduate-stud…>: This new presentation category is intended for early-stage graduate students (both master's and PhD level), who do not yet have research results, to showcase their project motivation and the benefit their work will have for industry. Selected students will deliver a 10-minute presentation during the conference.
More information about the student competitions, including application criteria and details on how to submit your application, can be found on the ANCC website<https://www.anacan.org/education-and-events/annual-conference/graduate-stud…>.
Student Networking Event
In addition to the opportunities to present their research, students can also participate in a networking event<https://www.anacan.org/education-and-events/annual-conference/graduate-stud…> to learn more about the diverse career opportunities within the Canadian feed industry.
ANAC Graduate Scholarship: call for applicants
The Animal Nutrition Association of Canada (ANAC) is pleased to offer the ANAC Graduate Scholarship<https://www.anacan.org/feed-industry/scholarships/> to a graduate student studying at a Canadian university in animal science or a related field of study, with a specific interest in animal nutrition. This $4,000 scholarship will be awarded at the 2024 ANCC where the recipient will showcase their research by giving a short presentation to industry experts in attendance. Travel expenses, accommodations and conference registration will be covered by ANAC for the winning student. More information and details on how to apply for the scholarship can be found on the ANAC website.
Applications for the 2024 ANAC Graduate Scholarship are now open and must be submitted by March 1, 2024.
[cid:image003.png@01DA7096.F33FA210]The conference provided a fantastic platform for researchers and industry professionals with common interests to network. It allowed us to establish meaningful connections that will hopefully lead to collective efforts in advancing the sector.
