Hello Plant Science Colleagues, It's election time all over the place these days, and the Graduate Students Association is no exception. If you'd like to run in the General Election for an executive position, the nomination period is now open. The information is in the email below, and the nomination form is attached. The job descriptions and responsibilities of the different positions are outlined in the GSA constitution, which is downloadable from the GSA website, www.umgsa.ca. The CRO for this election is Trish Kelley, whose email is cro(a)umgsa.ca. If you have questions, direct them her way. If you're interested in running in the election, you must complete a nomination form and have it signed by ten members of the GSA. The form must be submitted to 221 University Centre by February 15, 2008. A copy of the nomination form is attached to this email. You can also pick one up and the GSA office at 221 University Centre, and it will be available soon on the GSA wesite. The elected positions are: President 3 -Vice Presidents 3 - Senators Anyone interested in running should familiarize themselves with the GSA elections bylaws. "Academia Sinica, the preeminent research institution in Taiwan , is pleased to announce that its Taiwan International Graduate Program is now accepting applications for the 2008-2009 academic year. In 2002, Academia Sinica established the ?Taiwan International Graduate Program? (TIGP), a Ph.D. granting program in cooperation with the most prestigious national universities in Taiwan . Currently, it offers eight Ph.D. programs and those who successfully complete the academic requirements will be conferred a Ph.D. degree by the partner university and a certificate jointly signed by the President of Academia Sinica and the Director of TIGP.
