Grad Student Meet & Greet With Candidates for the Asst/Assoc Prof of Crop Protection (Weed Management) Position

Good morning grad students, As some of you may know, the Department of Plant Science is currently in the process of hiring for a new assistant/associate professor position titled: Crop Protection Research Chair (Weed Management). As part of the interview process, the department would like for the three candidates for this position to have a virtual meet and greet with the graduate students; this would allow us grad students to ask the candidates questions, learn a bit about their background, and hear their vision for their role in the department of Plant Science. It is also the hope of the Search Committee that we as graduate students will provide meaningful feedback on each of the candidates following these meet and greets. Please mark your calendars with the following dates and times for the meet and greets: Candidate 1: September 27th from 10:00 – 10:30 am Candidate 2: September 28th from 10:00 – 10:30 am Candidate 3: October 4th from 10:00 – 10:30 am (Candidates names will be provided at a later date). It is crucial that graduate students attend these meet and greets – we will be providing feedback to the Chair of the Search Committee that will play an important role in the hiring process of this position. To assist with grading the term project for my class and helping students during the weekly lab sessions, I need a Teaching Assistant with Prairie farming experience. Specifically, the TA will grade the student's term project which involves providing recommendations to a producer based on soil fertility test, yield goal, farming equipment, rotation and other considerations. Hello everyone, Attached is the Fall 2021 Grad Office schedule to revise. 1. Talk with the other people in your office and figure out the schedule. Then send it back to me. Room occupancy limit is in the left-hand corner, so some rooms have increased. 1. Once the schedule is filled, I will get it approved and then will send an email that it has been confirmed. 1. Rule change: Office hours are flexible as long as the max number of people in the room is followed. Example: if it is technically "John's" office hours according to the schedule, but "Sarah" sees its open, she can use it (unless of course John comes in) if she is following the max # per room. For new students who emailed me about an office, it is still being assigned and then we will get you on the schedule. Thanks, Sonia
