Hello everyone: Winnipeg Transit is going to be installing bike lockers at some transit locations and are asking for input on where they should be placed. Some people have suggested outer terminals, such as St. Vital Mall or Polo Park. Thoughts? Quick turnaround is required - please send your two cents by Tuesday (tomorrow) to Jonathan Borland at jborland(a)winnipeg.ca. Workplace Physical Activity Challenge

May is Physical Activity Month at the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba and we are challenging workplaces to get active with our second Workplace Physical Activity Challenge from May 5th to May 23, 2008! Step by Step: Walk for Wellness Challenge (please forward)

Hello Winnipeg Workplaces, Winnipeg in motion is inviting ALL Winnipeg workplaces to register their workplace and take part in the Step by Step: Walk for Wellness Challenge - a new pedometer based program designed to help your workplace add more physical activity and healthy eating to their day! We are encouraging workplaces to start their Challenge on March 31, 2008 and be included in the Winnipeg in motion spring campaign promoting walking for good health. Workplaces that register their Challenge will receive Winnipeg in motion prizes that can be used for incentives for teams to register early, for weekly prize draws, or for any sort of incentive that you wish. At this point we aren't sure how many of each item we can provide - it will depend on how many workplaces register and the amount of participants per workplace. Diffusion officielle et Internet Le 4 mars 2008 aura lieu la diffusion officielle, dans le module Web du Recensement de 2006 sur Internet, des données portant sur le travail, la scolarité, la langue de travail, et le lieu de travail et les déplacements entre le domicile et le travail (y compris le mode de transport). Il est possible d'avoir accès à ces données à partir de plusieurs passerelles. Les utilisateurs peuvent entrer par Le Quotidien; cliquer sur le bouton « Recensement » sur la barre de navigation latérale gauche de la page d'accueil de Statistique Canada (entrer par le lien « Pleins feux sur »); ou en suivant le lien « Thèmes et dates de diffusion » sous la rubrique Recensement de 2006. Les renseignements sous la rubrique « Thèmes et dates de diffusion » de la page Web présente les quatre thèmes diffusés le 4 mars 2008, et chaque page axée sur la diffusion est répartie en trois grandes catégories : Produits de données, Série « Analyses », et Géographie. Les Faits saillants en tableaux sur le lieu de travail et les déplacements entre le domicile et le travail (y compris le mode de transport) seront diffusés avec l'analyse de ces variables le 2 avril 2008. Dépositaires/Partenaires Le 4 mars 2008, les ministères fédéraux contribuant au financement, le Programme des services aux dépositaires (PSD), l'Initiative de démocratisation des données (IDD) et les coordonnateurs statistiques provinciaux et territoriaux auront le niveau d'accès 2 à tous les produits pertinents portant sur le travail, la scolarité, la langue de travail, et le lieu de travail et les déplacements entre le domicile et le travail (y compris le mode de transport) sauf pour les aires de diffusion (AD) dans l'ensemble du sous-module Web du Recensement de 2006 (RPI). Nous vous rappelons que les seuls produits normalisés du recensement qui ne sont pas offerts par le biais du module Web du recensement sont les produits au niveau des AR et tout autre produit jugé trop volumineux pour être livré par Internet. À l'interne, nous désignons ces produits comme produits de niveau 3. Selon les ententes précédentes prises auprès de nos dépositaires/partenaires, nos coordonnateurs/représentants de Statistique Canada qui leur offrent des services devraient utiliser le contenu de ce courriel afin de les informer sur les produits qui seront offerts le 4 mars 2008, ainsi que sur le format ou le support dans lesquels ils sont offerts.
