The focus of the webinar will be on utilizing Tactical Urbanism as a three-dimensional, real-world model to engage the public and also refine designs and test ideas in the field. Case studies illustrate successful strategies for engaging neighborhood residents, city agencies, and decision-makers and making them integral to the vision, design, and implementation of these temporary and semi-permanent installations. Composition of London riders

An interesting study looking at the makeup of London cyclists and why some people (and ethnicities) don't cycle. As a side note, there are nearly 2000 comments, and they seem to be largely from insulted white males, which makes a change from the usual 'I nearly got hit by a car/rider yesterday', cyclists running red lights etc. that tends to dominate most comments on cycling articles. http://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/davehillblog/2015/oct/12/why-are-london-… Ian

I found this interesting to see how GPS data can currently be easily collected, used and translated to the public. Similar to the OTTOCycle project done in the past. http://gizmodo.com/strava-insights-lets-you-see-how-the-world-runs-and-cyc-… Strava tracks runs and rides and has collected an extraordinary amount of data, and sells it to city planners. Bike lane blues: why don’t businesses want a £30m cycle-friendly upgrade?

Informative article about business opposition to bike lanes/active transport in the London borough of Enfield.
