It's interesting to watch all the news coverage on one lane being given to cyclists in Vancouver, BC. Here is an interesting article with lots of good quotes. In the past, lack of data has limited the ability to justify investments in bicycle and pedestrian facilities. In this one-hour webinar, participants will learn about the latest tools and research for forecasting bicycle and pedestrian demand and use. While there are well-established methodologies for conducting traffic counts, performing household travel surveys and modeling travel demand for vehicles, no such standards exist for nonmotorized modes. At most venues, the racks have a TD Jazz Festival flag to make them stand out. There will also be bike parking at the closing weekend at Old Market Square. Streetfilms - A park from the midst of its pavement

Yet another fantastic film from streetfilms. This one involves removing cars from a major intersection and the placing of street furniture in the street. Allowances are made for street cars to travel through at 17th / Castro / Market in San Francisco.
