In the new part of documentation (from v0.9 build 10 of analysis) there is a file with "how to ..." on this topic the content is: Select by date - existing variable Solution: use the built in formulae. Testing reliability of the analysis programme

I am in the process of building a set of pgm files which will assert whether the precision of the analysis programme is sufficient or not. The idea is to compare with standard or reference values for a number of tests known as the NIST standard datasets. If someone are willing to put in some hours of work in this let me know. Dear Sir Greetings Kindly tell me some examples about select date variable I have variable in which i stored the date in (dd/mm/yyyy) format. but in analyis i use select command to selecting the date it does not work. I type the SELECT SYNATX LIKE THAT on command prompt MY DATE VARIABLE IS - A39 THIS VARIABLE TYPE IS (DD/MM/YYYY) SELECT A39 > "10/10/1959" ----------------------------- IT GIVES THE MESSAGE INCOMPATIBLE STRING VARIABLE . EpiData Analysis build 10 released

Around 150 persons have downloaded the first release (v0.9 build 9). Most bugs and corrections pointed out are removed or identified. It is now possible to have an open testing round of the EpiData Analysis programme. The first release (v1.0) is expected within a few weeks if few problems show up, and few months if severe problems show up in the testing. Dear Katie, Please do the following: 1. Goto File -> Options -> Choose tab titled "Create Data File" and Select the redio button "Automatic Field Names" 2. Make your .QES file with appropriate labels Like Variable One is Auto ID: <AutoID> Two is Text: <AAAAAAAAAAAAA> And So on and on: ###.## 3. Once you are satisfied with the alignmen and all, mark the variable names with braces within the labels, without changing anything in the resulting alignment alignment like: {Var}iable One is Auto {ID}: <AutoID> {T}wo is {T}ext: <AAAAAAAAAAAAA> And {So on} and on: ###.## 4. Save the .QES file, go to "make data file" and follow through. The names would be "varid", "tt" and "soon". Any further changes will not affect the names so long as the text withing braces stays the same. Good Luck Gillani

I was hoping someone could help me with this... After creating a .QES file, I made a .REC data file and renamed all of my variables using the option in the Tools menu. I did this so that I wouldn't need to display variable names on the form. I had to go back and make a minor revision to the .QES file. When I revised my data file from the revised .QES file, all of my variables logically changed back to their original names. Is there any way around this? Thanks, Katie
