The Jewish Students Association (JSA) of the Universities of Winnipeg and Manitoba again welcomes everyone to our annual Interfaith Shabbat program.
Shabbat is the weekly Jewish day of rest, beginning at sundown each Friday and lasting until Saturday at dusk. It is a day of reflection, spirituality, enjoyment, and, of course, food. If you've never experienced a Shabbat - then this is your prime opportunity!
JSA is opening up the Etz Chayim Synagogue to give the community at large the opportunity to learn about and celebrate this special holiday, as well as to learn about Jewish culture and traditions in general, as we bring in Shabbat February 6. The evening is open to anyone of any religion, culture, or background, including those who are Jewish and would like to be part of this fun event.
The evening starts with a tour of the Etz Chayim Synagogue, followed by a beautiful Shabbat service led by JSA students, and then a wonderful and delicious dinner.
