Dear Manitoba Neuroscientists, On behalf of the Winnipeg Chapter Society for Neuroscience, I would like to congratulate you all on making the June 14 Manitoba Neuroscience Network meeting an overwhelming success. We had well over 150 registrants and 50 poster presentations, combined with excellent speakers that illustrated the breadth and depth of neuroscience research quality in Manitoba. Our strategy sessions were productive and yielded information being used currently to fuel long term plans of the WCSN to advocate for neuroscience research outreach and education in Manitoba. Details of these plans will follow. One point of strong agreement at the meeting is that the WCSN should initiate a seminar series that would further encourage sharing of information and technologies, as well as social interaction, on an ongoing basis. In response to this, an innovative speaker series is being planned. This initiative will require a dedicated volunteer to coordinate, schedule and attend to fine details. If you would like to serve in the capacity of Seminar Coordinator for the WCSN, please contact our office at wcsn(a)sbrc.ca. Thank you for helping invigorate the Manitoba neuroscience community.
