Important Security Update - Image Release of Residence Incident Suspect

Mauro Residence in which an unauthorized individual entered the building and assaulted a resident. Security Services are assisting Winnipeg Police Service (WPS) and supports are being provided to the affected residents. Effective today, UM is increasing the security presence on campus for the immediate future. WPS has released an image of the individual believed to be responsible. As part of their ongoing investigation, we are sharing this with our university community to support efforts to identify and locate the suspect. Dear UM community, The University of Manitoba has embarked on a consultation process to examine its sport and recreation brands, including the Bisons (which has not been updated in nearly 25 years), Mini U Programs, Junior Bisons and UM Recreation Services. This process will explore people's passion for the brands, consideration of the brands reflecting today's students and UM community, as well as alignment to UM's institutional brand that launched in 2019. As part of our commitment to ensuring we represent all UM Bisons, we are asking that you take a few moments to complete a survey. Your answers are valuable to us and will help inform these brands.
