For a detailed list of Winter Term deadlines, visit the Important Dates and Deadlines<https://umanitoba.ca/registrar/important-dates-deadlines#summer-term-2024> page.
________________________________
Course Adds and Drops (Revision Period)
The registration revision period, commonly known as the 'add and drop'<https://www.umanitoba.ca/registrar/registration/registration-steps#register…> period, allows you to make course or timetable changes without academic or financial penalties. Dropped<https://umanitoba.ca/registrar/withdraw-course#dropping-a-course> courses during this time will not appear on your transcripts, and tuition fees for these courses will be reversed.
* Drop a course deadline: January 17, 2025
* Add a course deadline: January 20, 2025
During the revision period, you can:
* Add a class if a seat becomes available or if you change your mind about a subject
* Register for a course from your waitlist if space becomes available
* Update your residency status in Aurora and receive a fee adjustment if applicable
After the revision period, you can still withdraw from a class, but it will be recorded on your transcript, and you will be responsible to pay for all fees for that course.

UM’s Libraries offer a variety of supports for students, whether it be helping with assignments<https://news.umanitoba.ca/libraries-help-students-writing/> or printing documents<https://umanitoba.ca/libraries/print>. I encourage all students to make use of the many services<https://umanitoba.ca/libraries/help-and-services> offered by our Libraries throughout the Winter term.
For those considering career possibilities, UM’s Annual Career Fair<https://www.umanitoba.ca/career-services/career-fairs/um-career-fair> cohosted by Career Services and the Asper School of Business will take place in UMSU University Centre on January 22 and January 23. This is an event for students to network and connect, explore career opportunities, and gain insight into out-of-class experiences that help you develop competencies that are critical to future career or post-graduate success.
Throughout the year, Career Services offers a range of invaluable resources to help students find jobs and volunteer positions at the UM and in the community. If you want to develop professional skills this term visit the Career Services site <https://umanitoba.ca/career-services/employment-resources-students> and consult the weekly Get Hired newsletter<https://news.umanitoba.ca/get-hired/>.

Wishing you all a productive, inspiring, and engaging term. I’m looking forward to seeing you on campus!

Student Affairs – Leaders in cultivating exceptional student experiences
With humility and appreciation, I acknowledge that the University of Manitoba campuses are located on original lands of Anishinaabeg, Ininew, Anisininew, Dakota and Dene peoples, and on the National Homeland of the Red River Métis. I respect Turtle Island and the Treaties that were made on these territories as a third-generation Mennonite settler. I am committed to contributing to acts of Reconciliation, and I am grateful to Indigenous communities for their leadership and patience as I continue my path of learning and awareness.
