Sexual Violence Needs Assessment Survey

[susan-email-header] Dear Student, I am inviting you to participate in an anonymous online 'Sexual Violence Needs Assessment Survey<https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/N82PGPV>' being administered to all University of Manitoba students. As you are aware, the University is committed to the safety and well-being of all members of our Community, and as part of this process our Sexual Assault and Violence Steering Committee is examining how well our sexual violence procedures, protocols, and supports are serving our students. In addition to learning about your experiences with sexual violence, we are also interested in understanding what you know about the supports and resources available on campus and your general perceptions of how the University responds to incidents of sexual violence. This information will be helpful to us in determining priorities for additional supports and resources in future. The survey will take approximately 20-30 minutes to complete. All responses are voluntary and you can exit the survey at any point without consequence. All responses will be recorded anonymously, and your responses cannot be matched with your identity. All survey responses will be aggregated and shared only in group format, so no individual responses will be reported. You can save your progress at any time by clicking on the "Save and continue later" button located at the bottom of each survey page. This will allow you to save your progress and return to finish the survey later. You can also choose to discard your responses, so that no information will be recorded from your responses to the survey, by simply exiting the survey without saving. If you agree to participate, you will have the opportunity to submit your e-mail address for a chance to win one of five $100 University of Manitoba Bookstore gift cards. You can also request that you receive a summary of the overall results when they are available later this year. It is anticipated that power will be restored sometime on Monday and regular activity will resume on Tuesday, April 3. Students and instructors should watch for further notices. Students in the residence have been relocated to other accommodations. Students have been notified to contact their instructor directly to inform them of any issues attending class, a lab, tutorial or studio, or a test. Instructors who are not able to arrive in time for their class, lab or test should contact their class as soon as possible to inform them of the delay (or cancellation if necessary). Department Heads and/or Deans and Directors should also be notified of any cancelations. Prime Minister Town Hall Jan. 31

All staff, students, faculty and alumni are invited to attend a public town hall with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau at the Investors Group Athletic Centre (IGAC) on Wednesday, January 31 at 7 p.m. This Winnipeg stop is one of a number of town hall events happening in communities across Canada in the coming months. The event is an opportunity for the Prime Minister to hear from Canadians about issues that matter, including how to create growth that works for everyone, prepare for the jobs of the future, and build a stronger more resilient middle class. While the event will take place in IGAC, the entrance and coat check can only be accessed via the Max Bell Centre's southeast entrance at 109 Sidney Smith Street. Doors open 5 p.m., while the event begins at 7 p.m. Please note that while an RSVP is required<http://tduguid.liberal.ca/events/>, it does not guarantee access to the event. Admission to the event will be on a first come, first served basis. It is important to know that large bags and coats/jackets won't be permitted inside the venue. There will be a mandatory coat check on site.
