Important Security Update - Image Release of Residence Incident Suspect

Mauro Residence in which an unauthorized individual entered the building and assaulted a resident. Security Services are assisting Winnipeg Police Service (WPS) and supports are being provided to the affected residents. Effective today, UM is increasing the security presence on campus for the immediate future. WPS has released an image of the individual believed to be responsible. As part of their ongoing investigation, we are sharing this with our university community to support efforts to identify and locate the suspect. Dear UM community, The University of Manitoba has embarked on a consultation process to examine its sport and recreation brands, including the Bisons (which has not been updated in nearly 25 years), Mini U Programs, Junior Bisons and UM Recreation Services. This process will explore people's passion for the brands, consideration of the brands reflecting today's students and UM community, as well as alignment to UM's institutional brand that launched in 2019. This one-day event offers undergraduate students like you the opportunity to showcase their summer research and scholarly activity through oral and poster presentations to the UM community, connect with fellow researchers, and compete for a share of $6,500 in cash prizes! Dropped courses during this time will not appear on your transcripts, and tuition fees for these courses will be reversed. * Drop a course deadline: September 17, 2024 * Add a course deadline: September 18, 2024 During the revision period, you can: * Add a class if a seat becomes available or if you change your mind about a subject * Register for a course from your waitlist if space becomes available * Update your residency status in Aurora and receive a fee adjustment if applicable After the revision period, you can still withdraw from a class, but it will be recorded on your transcript, and you will be responsible to pay for all fees for that course.
