This initiative supports UM's commitment to fostering a vibrant, inclusive environment-one where everyone feels a sense of belonging and can thrive as their authentic selves. It also fulfills the recommendations of the President's Task Force on Equity, Diversity and Inclusion<https://umanitoba.ca/about-um/equity-diversity-inclusion/task-force-final-r…>. UM is committed to strengthening the collection of demographic, self-identification data from students, staff, and faculty, such as Indigeneity, gender, racialized identities, religions and spiritualities, sexualities, and disabilities and chronic health conditions. This data helps UM better understand who we serve and is essential for identifying and addressing inequities. UM Demographic Census data will inform the development of targeted programs, services, and policies that support our community and enable us to track progress toward the equity and inclusion goals we have set. Your participation: * Participation is completely voluntary. * All responses are private and confidential. Data will be accessed only for analytical purposes and reported in aggregate form, with no personally identifiable information shared. * The questionnaire typically takes less than five minutes to complete. * This is an ongoing data collection activity that will continue to support UM's equity, accessibility, diversity, and inclusion efforts over time. Potential measles exposure at the University of Manitoba

Exposure locations and dates: * Helen Glass Centre – February 12 * Max Bell Centre – February 12 and 13 * Active Living Centre – February 12 Health officials have indicated this is an exposure event, not an outbreak. If you were in these locations on the listed dates, please follow the guidance provided by Manitoba Public Health<https://www.gov.mb.ca/health/publichealth/diseases/measles-exposures.html#e…>. Individuals who develop symptoms are advised to isolate at home and contact their health-care provider. If you become ill or need to isolate and will be absent from the university, please speak with your instructor. Dropped<https://umanitoba.ca/registrar/withdraw-course#dropping-a-course> courses during this time will not appear on your transcripts, and tuition fees for these courses will be reversed. * Drop a course deadline: January 19, 2026 * Add a course deadline: January 20, 2026 During the revision period, you can: * Add a class if a seat becomes available or if you change your mind about a subject * Register for a course from your waitlist if space becomes available * Update your residency status in Aurora and receive a fee adjustment if applicable After the revision period, you can still withdraw from a class, but it will be recorded on your transcript, and you will be responsible to pay for all fees for that course.
