Subject: Important Information about Banting Post Doctoral Fellowships-Internal Deadline July 25, 2018
Date: April 18, 2018 at 1:22:42 PM CDT
Dear Colleagues:
The Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships program<http://banting.fellowships-bourses.gc.ca/en/home-accueil.html> provides awards to attract and retain the very best postdoctoral researchers, both nationally and internationally, in order to develop their leadership potential and position them for success as research leaders who will positively contribute to Canada’s economic, social and research-based growth. Seventy (70) awards are distributed equally across CIHR, NSERC, and SSHRC.
The 2018-19 competition has been officially launched, as of today. The Banting application deadline will be September 19, 2018.
As per the University’s internal process for previous Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships program competitions, there will be an internal deadline to allow for a more thorough selection process and additional time to help develop strong applications. This internal deadline has been set as JULY 25, 2018. By this deadline, all sections of the application must be completed with the exception of the Letter of Endorsement attachment, which will be completed only for those applications selected to be submitted to the competition following internal review by an expert panel.
For those applicants invited to submit a full application to the Banting program, all sections of the revisedapplication taking into consideration the panel members comments along with the FAAF, must be completed and submitted to the Office of Research Services by September 13, 2018.
Researchers are encouraged to visit the Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships Website (www.banting.fellowships-bourses.gc.ca<http://www.banting.fellowships-bourses.gc.ca/>) to review the program guidelines and eligibility criteria to identify possible candidates for this prestigious award. Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships program applications require the active involvement of candidates and supervisors with considerable time commitment. Both are strongly encouraged to start early on the application to be able to meet the internal deadline of July 25, 2018.
If you have any questions, or wish to discuss an application or candidacy further, please feel free to contact Jenna Silva, Office of Research Services (jenna.silva(a)umanitoba.ca<mailto:jenna.silva@umanitoba.ca>; 474-7437).
Thank you.
