Forwarded on behalf of Michelle Carkner:
We're hoping to find a person who can start on April 1, 2023, but the date can be negotiable for the right candidate. I'm glad to talk with potential applicants about both the position and life in Vancouver; please encourage them to reach out to me at solveig.hanson(a)ubc.ca<mailto:solveig.hanson@ubc.ca>.
This is a truly unique position in that it integrates hands-on breeding and variety trial management, participatory farmer network coordination, interpretation of scientific results for both scholarly and farmer audiences, and collaboration with genomic, functional ecology, and social science research groups. It's an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to build skills in participatory plant breeding, community science, science communication, and project management. Focus crops will be carrot and two salad greens crops to be selected by participants.

Hello PS grads,
As you all know, the Advanced Plant Science Seminar is started and in addition to the journal club members who chair the seminars each week, we would like to extend the invitation to our MSc students also to chair the seminars this time.
This will be an excellent opportunity to get your communication and presenting skills practised. So, if you are interested in joining us and moderating a seminar, please let me know!
I will direct the dates we need moderators, and you can choose a date that works for you.
Thank you!

Hi Claudio,
Could you please send this out to your students or anyone you know who might be interested:
The Manitoba Association of Plant Biologists is looking for students to present at our next meeting on November 26th. Research or research proposals and any type of botanical research are welcome. It is a smaller setting and a good place to practice for upcoming conferences. Please contact me if you are interested, or have any questions (paige.anderson(a)umanitoba.ca<mailto:paige.anderson@umanitoba.ca>)
