Hello fellow grad students!
I wanted all plant science grad students to be aware of a fun activity! This weekend is the Manitoba Stampede and Exhibitionhttp://manitobastampede.cahttp://www.manitobastampede.com in Morris, MB!!! This is your chance to experience a part of the history that founded the North American western frontier!
The feature event is Manitoba's ONLY pro rodeo! Show times for the rodeo are Friday @ 7pm and, Saturday and Sunday @ 2pm. On Saturday and Sunday, there will also be chuckwagon and chariot races after the rodeo! Gate admission is FREE this year, and rodeo tickets are 20$. There are many entertainment options, including a midway (rides and games), horse shows and demonstrations, a trade show, texas hold-em tournament, and beer garden.
I have been working the Rodeo for over 10 years, and I can say this year is going to be a great show! There are lots of entries for every event, and all these performers are elite athletes in their sport. It's only a 40 minute drive south on highway 75 (Pembina) from the south perimeter.
