Dear Everyone,
As you all know, we have snacks (chips, granola bars and pop) in the Graduate Lounge which are sold for 50 cents a piece. Payment for whatever you take is based on the honesty system. Take something, drop its monetary equivalent in the basket hidden in our "secret place". Unfortunately, we have been noticing that some have not been paying up or have not settled their I-O-U notes. Their has also been some theft from our money basket.
To avoid the temptation to "steal", we will be replacing the basket with a small money box that has a lock and key. If you get something from the snack bar you can either pay the exact amount or take something again next time. For those who still owe money, please pay before Friday since we will be doing an inventory of all remaining supplies. Remember, we can only afford to buy snacks for the snack bar with the money raised from the previous sale. No money = No snacks!
It's a pity we were not able to keep up the former honesty system. But it is either the lock-and-key system or no snacks in the graduate lounge at all.
Remember, everything is 50 cents a piece!
